Hi, my name’s Ella. I’m 18 and set up this blog to share my experiences travelling and volunteering during my gap year.
I hope you enjoy reading my blog and learning a little about what I’ll be doing this year. I’m looking forward to visiting parts of the world I’ve never seen before and experiencing new cultures.
I’m currently in Uganda (in a district called Hoima) on a volunteering placement with the VSO (Voluntary Service Overseas). The programme is ICS (International Citizens Service) and is for young people between 18 and 25 from the UK and the country where the placement is running. The project I’m working on is Resilient Livelihoods and aims to provide the necessary skills for generating a sustainable income. We are targeting young people and those who are marginalised and working with them to address their needs.
